Like you, my parents were in a place of uncertainty, confusion and at there wits end trying to figure out how they can best support their child. The only option they had was to send their son to a boarding school or to watch him destroy both their lives and his own. They sent me to a behavior modification program where I was handcuffed and escorted to a school in Mexico. At first, my parents thought I would go to a school on the beach where I would play and have fun. In order to keep me safe, they took out a second mortgage on their house and spent upwards of $80 thousand dollars. Little did they know, this is not the best place for someone like me to be. Even though it helped me straighten out my life, it also left me psychologically in ruins. It took me almost two decades to heal the psychological damage that came with my time there. I mention this not because I wish I had not gone to this program, I mention it because I wish my parents had other options and solutions besides sending me to this program. As I did not know, I would become my own wish, to provide parents and children of tomorrow with a safe, effective, and affordable solution.
